.A Luxury Spa Retreat Review | Moddershall Oaks, Stone.

Last week I was invited to come and review a luxury spa retreat in Stone called Moddershall Oaks  - a tough job but someone’s got to do it! I was so impressed by my experience i couldn’t wait to share my day with you and introduce you to a real haven in the midlands countryside. As we drove into the Moddershall Oaks grounds past fields baby lambs and Spring trees it looked so much smaller than I originally thought it would do, but upon walking through the lodges we discovered a whole other world of luxury hidden in the forest and around the Moddershall lake.

First of all I was treated to an hour of full body hot stone massage which is my ultimate spa treatment of choice in Moddershall’s traditional treatment rooms. Chloe my therapist was incredibly kind, softly spoken and professional and she made me feel completely at home right from the word go. As an office worker by day and a kickboxer by night my back and shoulders get really tense along with my thighs and calves too so the full body element was greatly appreciated and with soothing music and enveloping Elemis oil fragrances i was gone as soon as my face went in that hole! Chloe worked really well on my legs which felt like jelly afterwards they were so relaxed, and she managed to work out a number of knots in my shoulders completely pain free. Because my shoulders are so tense I often need quite a lot of specific pressure from my sports massage therapist which can be a bit uncomfortable so it was really nice having a back massage i could relax with and just be able to enjoy the blissful yet firm pressure Chloe applied. Hot stones make a world of difference too, if you’ve never had a hot stone massage you definitely need to give it a go – I add them to every comfort massage I have as it really helps relax muscles and adds a whole other element to your treatment.

After my hour was up I got dressed and was taken up to The Snug, Moddershall’s brand new luxury pamper cabin and my goodness is it impressive!!! With it’s boutique interior, bottles of champagne coming out your ears, great tunes and enough cushions to sink a ship The Snug is THE place to be for a pamper with your girls or other half over a glass of bubbles or a pot of herbal tea if you’re being good! The boyfriend had very kindly driven me to the spa and joined me in The Snug for my pedicure after enjoying an hour to himself with a coffee and his book settled on the comfy sofas looking over the beautiful lake. I was brought a summer fruit tea and settled down on the leather sofas while I excitedly picked my polish colour for my tootsies! We decided on a beautiful coral colour with a gold glitter top coat (well, it is spring after all!) and Chloe set about the mammoth task of sorting out my tired kickboxer feet! I’m in desperate need of some specialised kickboxing trainers for my classes as my Nike Flex Runs don’t cut the mustard when it comes to kicks, so I end up training with bare feet resulting in cracked soles and bruised toenails….nice! But after another blissful hour of soaking, scrubbing, heating and an incredible massage they were painted and looked as good as new! I slipped on my sandals to protect the polish, finished sipping my tea and got a grand tour of the retreat by Joe who had become an expert during my massage time!

The grounds are simply stunning, I would love to see them in the summer with blossom and leaves on the trees – there’s no wonder so many brides choose Moddershall as their wedding venue. Everywhere is so serene and natural with every member of staff we bumped into being incredibly friendly and helpful. Although we didn’t get to see inside one of the lodges as i believe they were unsurprisingly fully booked, the rooms look gorgeous on their website and right up our street. I would absolutely love to spend a weekend at Moddershall to relax and unwind – the pool and spa area are beautiful and if you’re mad enough to want to exercise during your relaxing stay there is a pretty nifty gym too! We didn’t get a chance for lunch during our day but i hear the lunch and dinner menus are to die for - afternoon tea after a bit of a pamper looking over the lake sounds like my idea of heaven so we’ll pop that on the list for next time!

It’s the perfect setting for a weekend away where robes and slippers are your uniform and relaxation is the only thing on the agenda. If you’re looking for a getaway or a place to pamper with the girls then i’d definitely recommend taking a look a what Moddershall have to offer, i’ll certainly be back and i think i know a boy who’d like to join in with me next time too! So a huge thank you to Moddershall for having me for the day, i’m incredibly impressed and won’t be forgetting my Moddershall experience in a hurry.
