How to Create Festival Makeup Glitter Freckles for Beginners!

This is a sponsored post with Boots – ad-

I love going to festivals – they are always such a vibe! And I feel like at a festival you can really go wild with your clothes, your hair and your makeup wearing anything you want…with lots of colour and sparkle!

I’ve come up with a super cute little makeup idea for those wanting to bring a bit of sparkle to their festival look without finding glitter in their hair for months afterwards! Introducing, glitter freckles!

As we’re at a festival all day and the weather will hopefully be kind, sunscreen is a MUST. I get asked on instagram all the time which one I use that doesn’t break me out and the Nivea Factor 50 Suncream if the BEST I’ve found It has a really thick but absorbent application and sits nicely under makeup giving a lovely glow! I don’t find it breaks me out and I just love the way it smells too – reminds me of happy summer days!

Boots really do have you covered for this one with their Festival Makeup Essentials to help you get the perfect look! As we’re going to be out all day it’s key to start with a primer to help keep things in place like this Revlon Conceal and Fix Primer. Again as we’re hoping for good weather I’m going light on the skin and instead of foundation, I’ve just used my trusty Touche Eclat to brighten any dark circles (from the late night dancing!) and the high coverage concealer on any blemishes. I’ve found ever since my wedding, I’ve ditched the foundation and it gives such a natural but covered look I really love.

On my brows I’ve used my FAVOURITE brow product of the moment, this NYX Glue to keep them in place. Then I’ve simply filled in any sparse areas with the NYX pencil using hair-like strokes. I love the new fluffier brows that seem to be in fashion at the moment and these two products make them so easy to create.

Pick an eyeshadow colour of your choice and sweep it all over the lid and we’re skipping liner today in favour of some BIG lashes! The Benefit Magnet Mascara packs a real punch and doesn’t budge even on the hottest of days!

Cheeks are bronzed with a sweep of my favourite Hoola Bronzer and a sprinkle of NARS Blush in the shade Behave. I love this one because it’s not too heavy especially if you’re pale like me. It gives a pretty little blush without looking unnatural. I pop a little bit on the end of my nose and the top of my forehead too.

TIME FOR THE GLITTER FRECKLES!

To create our festival makeup glitter freckles I’ve used three products. This cute glitter from Barry M stuck on with a special glitter primer from NYX. I found popping some primer on the handle end of an eyeshadow brush and using that to pick up and place the glitter worked so well! I then filled in between the glitter freckles with some realistic looking faux freckles using the Revolution freckle pen! Shhhh Nobody needs to know!

I finished it all off with a sweep of the infamous Laura Mercier Setting Powder (its the best I’ve found!) and a spritz of my favourite setting spray from Urban Decay to make sure nothing moves an inch!

My hair I whipped up into these 90’s space buns with a spray of my other festival essential – Dry Shampoo. This keeps them looking fresh but also gives them a bit of grip to help you style things easily.
