I’m a big tequila fan! It’s a versatile spirit that once you get over those memories of cheap shots in the uni bar way past bedtime when shots were the LAST thing you needed…can be very much enjoyed!
I’ve also got a bit of a penchant for anything rose flavoured, including this delicious rose lemonade from fentimans. I have it in the fridge for warm days when I fancy something, well, fancy! And it’s delicious on its own or with a splash of gin. But it got me thinking…what about tequila?
…and so the Corazón Rosa Cocktail (the pink heart) was born! It’s fresh, it’s balanced and it’s grown up – perfect for sipping at a BBQ, before dinner or at your next friends night. 4 ingredients, no elaborate mixology skills and one fab cocktail!
Corazón Rosa Cocktail –
ROSE COCKTAIL INGREDIENTS:
- Double Shot: Tequila Blanco – my fave is Don Julio
- 1/2-1 Bottle of Rose Lemonade – great value to buy by the case on Amazon
- 1 Shot: Fresh lime
- Handful of Fresh mint
- A cocktail shaker or jam jar
- Your favourite tumbler glass
I’ve got a whole list of my favourite cocktail glasses, good shakers and our top spirits – take a look here and stock up!
HOW TO MAKE:
Take a few mint leaves and give them a slap between your hands – bruising the leaves slightly helps bring out the flavour.
Pop your tequila, lime and mint into a shaker with a handful of ice and shake vigorously until the outside of your shaker feels cold.
Strain over ice into your tumbler and top up with rose lemonade. Don’t overdo it – we still want to taste the tequila – but you can make it as strong or as weak as you like here.
Add a sprig of mint for garnish and you’re good to go!
I love the flavour combos in this cocktail – sweetness from the lemonade, zest from the lime, floral freshness from the rose and mint and a good old tequila kick! It’s one of my favourite summer cocktails and I think you’ll really like it too….my DMs certainly say so over on Instagram anyway!
