I’ve had this week off to use up holiday i had, but as the new holiday allowance starts again in April it means i have to go in tomorrow to avoid taking holiday from next years set! I could get used to these one day weeks!
However i am submitting my CV tomorrow for that new job opportunity that’s come up and giving it a go. I’m way too inexperienced for the role but i figured i’d give it a shot anyway - nothing to lose i guess, so we’ll see what happens!
I am looking forward to a cappuccino in the morning though and a bowl of my creamy porridge!
So realistically we can’t have a puppy yet as both me and the boyfriend are working full time and i would really prefer not to have my brand new leather sofas scratched to pieces!
But we are thinking about getting two little bunny rabbits to love and care for! I used to keep guinea pigs and rabbits when i was younger and they both make lovely pets. We’d definitely keep them outside instead of in though, the whole house bunny thing creeps me out a bit so the boyfriend is thinking of converting our shed into a bunny mansion!
i just wanted to let you know, whenever i dont pay attention during lectures i'm on my phone and your posts always make me smile! i feel like i know you, but i dont? if that makes any sense! you're absolutely wonderful!
sending my love from california! =]
You lot are spoiling me with these wonderful messages recently!
Thank you so much Justine, i love your blog too - your doggy is too cute!! Isn’t it great how you can share your lives with people all over the world, i often find myself getting genuinely excited for some of the people i follow when something great happens for them, or feeling sad when things don’t go right.
I really hope that i’m still tumblring in 10 years time so i can look back on some of the wonderful things i’ve done. A lot of the times it’s the little things in your day that make it great but those can be so easy to forget, this way they’re always there to look back on and smile about! ♥
I'm from Australia and I've had tumblr for quite some time now so I actually can't remember how I found your blog but I just wanted to let you know I love it! I don't follow many people because it's so hard to find a good personal blog these days. Everyone just posts random pictures that aren't even theres.
Just wanted you to know that you're one of my favourites :)
Hope your house renovating is going smoothly!! I know how tough renovating can be, especially when it's DIY!!!
Thanks for the entertainment :)
Thank you for your kind words, i really don’t know how i’ve missed your blog all this time, it’s beautiful. I do try and visit every new followers blog but people get lost sometimes in the tumblr craziness when i sit and catch up with post. I am a firm follower of yours now however and look forward to reading more! It’s amazing to hear from readers who have been around since the early days and are still here, i really do appreciate every one of you.
The house is whizzing along quickly i’m surprised at how fast it’s taking shape - i’m sure my boyfriend is superman in disguise! Three(ish) more weeks and we’re hoping to be in…how exciting!
Thank you again for your lovely message, you’ve set me up with a smile for the day! ♥
Done my back in yet again lifting heavy things out of my room the other day. I have my parents to blame for pre-disposed back problems, but lately mine’s got super weak and when it goes, it knocks me out for a few days and i end up walking like an OAP!
Am currently taking solice in a glass of wine whilst sulking over the fact that i wont be able to go running this week. Race for life is getting scarily close, best get better and back on the pavements! (…wait, does that make me sound like a lady of the night? should probably re-phrase that)
You might be the only person who has something nice to say about dry shampoo haha. Maybe you're the only one using it right... :P ALSO, I just wanted to tell you that I love reading all of your posts. It is refreshing to follow someone who posts mainly text posts! And the way you talk (well type...) is so cute haha. I am so American and boring.
Honestly, i couldn’t live without it! I have 3 tins of the stuff in my room atm, it’s so useful for keeping your fringe looking fresh between washes. Make sure when you spray it on though it’s not too close to your head otherwise it turns your hair completely white and i just tend to find the granny look a bit tricky to pull off. Give it a good ruffle and a brush too and you’ll be good to go!
Thank you so much, your blog makes me chuckle! Isn’t it odd how i find the way you type just as endearing! I do agree though that it’s difficult to find personal blogs nowadays. - if anyone’s got any suggestions, i’d love to check them out ♥
We’re going to IKEA today to buy our kitchen!!! We are also taking mum and using her as a human trolly to pile home essentials onto as we wheel her round. My aunty and uncle gave us £50 yesterday as a house warming pressie which was ridiculously generous of them, so we’re about to spend it up on plates, cutlery and such like.
I think i’ll get us lots of necessary little bits and bobs today and leave all the decorative things until we’re about ready to move in. The plasterer started today though so we’re hoping it’s floor sanding and paint time next week, and i can finally get my hands dirty!
Off to take mumsy to the doctors first though and then i might wash my hair before IKEA. I know, steady on rock and roll lifestyle.
There’s a few opportunities come up at work that have caught my eye this week and i’m totally torn as to whether to go for one or not. It means longer hours, travelling and the occasional stay in a hotel over night. But with this comes career progression, life experience and a pay rise, i’m torn.
Obviously i’m only just moving out and i want to spend as much time at home with my wonderful boyfriend as possible so staying in a hotel sometimes isn’t ideal at all, plus i’d rather not have to drive around a lot, because i get lost quite easily! But it could be a really great opportunity.
I think i may investigate further and see what happens!
Started to clear out my rooms yesterday ready for when i move out. It’s amazing all the little things you find that you thought were lost forever, or even christmas presents people have brought you that you’ve stashed away and never used…oops! My local charity shops are going to love me after this though, i’ve got three bagfulls already and i haven’t even started on my clothes!
I find really hard to give things away, especially clothes you’ve hardly worn or books from your childhood, but we just don’t have room for it all, or more like - i don’t want it cluttering up my lovely new house! It’s ok to stack crap up in my room now because it’s in need of decorating and it’s just my boring old room but when it’s your own place, it’s a bit different.
…we’re both having a box up in the loft of really special old books and toys that just can’t be given away though and keeping some of our university books to sit on the shelf and make us look clever ! :P
Having my nails infilled tomorrow because they are an absolute mess - 3 of them are cracked and 4 of them have chipped at the base….how useless am i with these girly treatments?! Hopefully she’ll be able to fix them for me and they’ll look like new tomorrow afternoon…
…just in time for me to carry on clearing out my room and to snap one again!
My aunty and uncle are over from Ireland and want to see my new house. I said i’d meet them there at 12…only got up 20minutes ago.
Currently sat in my pjs eating toast, drinking tea and deciding whether to scroll through one more page of tumblr before jumping in the shower. Shall i risk it?!
made it with 5mins to spare and managed to take a load of piccies for our scrapbook before showing them round! They loved it, and once again i’m filled with an indescribable amount of pride for our little house and my superman boyfriend!
Just got back dinner at Pizza Express with the boyfriend to celebrate being together for four whole years! We had gift vouchers to spend so it was totally free…it may be a special day, but how you gonna turn down free pizza?! :P
Its strange to think that we’ve been together for so long though, when it feels like only yesterday we met. We’ve been through so much together, been to so many wonderful places and made an infinite number of amazing memories - and our lives together are only just beginning.
Even though this year’s celebration consisted of free pizza and wine, it totally beats last year’s trip to Paris because on the way home we get to drive past our house - even though it’s covered in rubble with a giant skip on the drive! We’ve got a very exciting few weeks and years ahead!
Got woken up this morning with pancakes and tea in bed by my lovely boyfriend! Such a wonderful way to say happy ‘anniversarytypething’ ♥
Am currently sat painting my nails and thinking of installing The Sims and building a miniature version of our house on it!!! Am i 15?! While the boyfriend is working on our actual house, i can work on the virtual version….seeing as i don’t know how to plasterboard in real life! :P
I have friday all the way through to next thursday off from workies! Woooooo!
…and the best part is, i was told to take it off because it needed to be used up, so it’s like a bonus week of holiday for me! :)
It is useful having some extra free time though, friday im off to help my lovely beautician friend make a website and take some decent piccies of her amazing work for it! Plus she’s going to fix my nail that i broke yesterday…i am useless with nails. Then in the evening me and a few of the ladies from work are off out for lots of wine and giggles!
The rest of the week will be spent taking trips to IKEA for kitchens and cutlery and sorting out my rooms ready for ‘the big move’ in a week or so - scary stuff! Our house is just about ready to be plastered so it’s really starting to take shape, we’re loving it and the boyfriend is working so so hard. That’s why i’ve booked us a table at Pizza Express on sunday evening to celebrate being together for 4 years! The rest of the day will be spent plaster boarding our new house, and to be honest, i can’t think of a better way to celebrate! :D
My legs were there but my mind wasn’t today so even though we ran further without stopping than usual, i just couldn’t pull out all the stops on the way back. But hey, it’s still more exercise than i would have done if id’ve just gone home and vegged! I tried to get out of it because i forgot my socks, but unfortunately C had a spare pair *grumbles*
Now i’m home and fed though i’m really craving chocolate! I hardly ever crave or eat chocolate but i can honestly munch through a huge block of Dairy Milk all to myself when i get started! How bad is that?! :|
*edit*mid-blog the boy brought round a block of Dairy Milk whole nut…ooooooh deeeeeaaaaar!
Were going on a two mile run after work training for Race for Life and I really CBA! You know those days when you just think, i would much rather be at home on my bum than out running the canal path? Well i’m there today!
Seeing as I have to cook for mum and dad until I move out and they won’t give up their dairy, most of my evening meals will be at best vegetarian if I can sneak in some substitutes!
Hey ho! Still cutting our as much as possible for now, it’s fairly easy to do in the daytime at work anyway. For lunch today: Spicy Tomato and Lentil Soup with a fresh nectarine for pudding!
It does annoy me however when people think they have the right to lecture you about your diet choice (notice the word choice there: as in, it’s my choice, not yours).
Are you my mother? No.
Even if you were my mother considering that i am 22 years old, would the lecture then become acceptable? No.
Do you actually know anything about vegan food apart from simply holding the same ‘tree-hugging, pale -faced, dreadlock baring’ sterotype everyone else seems to share about people who follow a vegan diet? No.
