Not the most attractive of subjects but we’re here to discuss all the trial and tribulations of the Bikini Body Guide! Sadly this uncomfortable bodily function has been the bane of my life for the whole second week of my Kayla Itsines programme and it’s become quite de-motivating.
Any big change in your diet is going to have some repercussions one way or another, and mine has come with a tummy that makes me look 6 months pregnant and feel pretty darn uncomfortable. After a lot of google research i’ve narrowed this down to all the veggies i’ve introduced to my diet over the past two weeks, sometimes in quite large quantities that have given me the mother of all food babies. I’ve also had a bit of a hormonal week which i don’t think has helped either, it makes you feel like all your hard work is for nothing when you look in the mirror and see a giant tummy staring back at you!
I love vegetables, and i’m not about to stop eating them but i’m slowly weening my portions down while my body gets used to the change but i’ve also found some simple ways to help reduce bloating that have been really useful this past week.
How I Stop Bloating on Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide
– Drink lots of water to help your body digest the fibres…i’ve been a bit slack with my water intake which i don’t think has helped
– Keep exercising (even though you don’t feel like it)
– Drink fennel and dandelion tea…these have been a lifesaver for me really helping to settle my tummy down and reduce bloating. I drink fennel after every meal and up to three cups of dandelion throughout the day.
I’m hoping that after another week my body might adjust to my new diet and these feelings may subside because i’m not looking forward to my next side progress photos at all!
