60 second Chocolate Orange Brownie in a Mug!
There’s something about chocolate orange that just works, and personally I LOVE IT! The other week I published a blog post with my chocolate orange bliss balls for a healthier sweet treat…but sometimes you just need to go full indulgence!
If you don’t have time to bake a full batch of brownies then this microwave brownie in a mug recipe is perfect! Mixed in a mug and baked in just 60 seconds – it’s perfect for a sweet chocolate orange hit and goes perfectly with a big dollop of vanilla ice cream too!
*Psssst* If you do have time to bake a full batch of brownies, can I suggest my triple chocolate salted caramel peanut butter brownies? And yes, they are as epic as they sound!
Chocolate Orange Brownie In a Mug:
Ingredients:
3.5 tbsp Plain Flour
2 tbsp Caster Sugar (golden is my fave!)
1.5-2tbsp Cocoa Powder
1 tbsp Sunflower Oil
3 tbsp Milk
2 Segments of Orange Chocolate
A scoop of vanilla ice cream (optional but advised!)
How To:
- Mix all your ingredients in your favourite (microwave safe) mug
- Poke the segments of orange chocolate into the middle of your brownie mix and microwave for 60 seconds
- Dollop with vanilla ice cream (and maybe another segment of chocolate) and enjoy!

The eagle eyed among you may have noticed that the only chocolate orange part is the chocolate we stick in the middle! This not only makes our brownie even easier without needing any orange zest or essence, but also means the recipe can be adapted with ANY CHOCOLATE!
So if you fancy a peanut butter microwave brownie, why not add a Reece’s piece! Or caramel brownie – a mini mars bar? Or for a more sophisticated taste why not try a couple blocks of dark chocolate…the possibilities are endless with this one!
You can also very easily make this into a vegan mug brownie by substituting the milk for a non-dairy alternative and using vegan chocolate and cocoa powder!
