I’ve been using the Mylee Gel Nail Kit for years now and I think it’s one of the best gel nail lamps out there for beginners. Here’s my beginners tutorial on how to use your Mylee nail kit showing all the gel nail steps you need for a perfect gel manicure at home!

Step by Step Gel Application
Gel Nail Steps using the Mylee Gel Nail Kit
- Prep your nails ready for the gel manicure – gently push back your cuticles, file and shape the nails and buff lightly with a buffing block (see my nail prep tutorial here)
- Dehydrate the nail with some prep and wipe solution on a lint free pad – wipe across each nail to remove any natural oils
- Apply your mylee base coat in thin even layers being careful not to touch the skin around your nails [Watch my how to paint neat cuticles tutorial here for more guidance]
- Cure for 30 seconds under the Mylee gel lamp
- Paint the first coat of your chosen MyGel colour (avoiding the skin around your nails)
- Cure for 30 seconds under the Mylee Gel lamp
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 by painting a second layer of your chosen gel colour and curing. [Be sure to cap the ends of your nails as shown in my tutorial video above]
- Apply a layer of top coat over your coloured polish avoiding the skin and capping the ends
- Cure for a final 30 seconds
- Wipe away the tacky layer with your prep and wipe solution on a lint free pad
- Apply Mylee cuticle oil to re-hydrate the skin
