Blink Brows Before and After

Blink Brow Bar

Last week I took a trip to Birmingham to visit the Blink Brow Bar in Selfridges to get my eyebrows well and truly sorted out and, as they did such a great job I knew I had to share! My first Brow Bar experience was earlier this year with Benefit where I had a tint and wax with amazing results, so when Blink told me they had a technique that can get my brows even sharper I was well and truly intrigued. Situated next to my other favourite beauty hangouts in the Bullring – HC LuxSpa and the Umberto Giannini Blow Dry Bar– the Blink Brow team are on hand ready to thread and tint your brows to perfection with pre-booked appointments or walk-ins while you’re shopping!

You really could do it all in the Bullring Selfridges: brows, nails, hair and make-up – I must give this a go with the girls one day before painting the town red on a Saturday evening!Blink Brow Bar

The Blink Brow Bar is bright and welcoming with some seriously comfy chairs away from the hustle and bustle of the other shoppers. We picked a seat, reclined backwards and got ready for my treatment! Blink sell their own products from eyebrow pencils, tweezers, candles, curlers and more – these girls know their stuff and I felt in excellent hands right from the get go.

Blink Brows Selfridges Birmingham Review (10)First – The Tint at £12. The Blink girls remove your current makeup and comb on the colouring – don’t be alarmed if you look a bit like Groucho Marx, it doesn’t stay this dark! The tint allows the tiniest and lightest hairs to stand out and makes a huge difference if you’re fair-haired like me. My therapist gave me a lovely head massage while the colour was working away which was a lovely touch indeed – I nearly fell asleep! Once developed – which only take a couple of minutes – they wipe away the access and get out their threads!

Onto the Shaping! A brow shape at Blink in Birmingham will set you back £17 but will last for at least four weeks, and unlike waxing it doesn’t whip away the top layer of your skin with the hair so it’s a little better for you in the long run. It is however rather painful! I was completely useless and my eyes were watering all over the place but my therapist worked quickly and it was over before I knew it…someone pass the tissues!

We finished by filling in any areas that needed a bit of extra help and we were good to go! The only thing that worried me was not being able to put any makeup on for a couple of hours afterwards which did mean I was walking round the shops with pinky brows for a little while – but no-one seemed to notice!

AFTER – Natural, no filling in

AFTER – Filled in as normal

I’m SO happy with my new brows, they look amazing! And the tint really helped when I was popping in and out of the pool on holiday last week not worrying about my eyebrows sliding down my face! I loved my experience at the Blink Brow Bar and although the threading was a little on the stingy side I think it gives such a super sharp edge and has left me with a brilliant shape I’m obsessed with – I’ll certainly be back!

You can find your local Blink Brow Bar on their website HERE and book in for an appointment!
