Getting fit is on most of our to do lists in order to stay healthy in our bodies AND minds! But gym memberships are expensive and we never find the time to go. There must b something we can do in the comfort of our own homes that we can start today and stick to?

Here are my top 3 ways to work out at home for cardio, strength and mindfulness…

Cardio: Couch to 5k

DOWNLOAD the C25K App

The thought of going for a run strikes fear into my heart, and I know i’m not the only one! But the Couch to 5k app makes building up your stamina easy over 8 weeks until you can run a whole 5k!

It’s super easy to follow and a fab way to build new habits around exercise – all you need is your phone, some headphones and a pair of good trainers!

Fitness trackers are great for any exercising in order for you to monitor your heart rate, track calorie burn and record your progress. I wear the Fitbit Alta HR which does all that and looks cute on your wrist too!

Still not convinced by this one?

Strength: At Home Workout Guides

There are so many at home workout guide available these days there’s no excuse if you fancy sweating it out in your living room!

I’ve completed the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide in the past and my results were PHENOMENAL. It’s a tough programme, you certainly know when you’ve done a workout, but each workout is doable and short which makes it easy to keep up. With 3 HIT workouts a week and 3 lower intensity sessions (like a nice walk), it’s easy to fit this programme around your busy schedule and it can all be done at home.

Most of the exercises use body weight but some in the later weeks of the programme may need a little more which you can pick up cheaply offline, or use things like 2L bottles of water or tins of beans – you don’t have to spend a fortune to get fit!

If you want to go one step further, you can hire yourself an online personal trainer like Rosi Jay Fitness who will be with you 24/7 in your pocket to keep you challenged and motivated!
