Purminerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Review

I have a confession to make. When i was contacted about this Purminerals ‘hero’ product i was really underwhelmed by the thought of it. I have problem skin with acne scars, uneven colouring and frequent breakouts (thanks for that skin) so i need a high coverage foundation to make me feel confident enough to even leave the house most days! So when this 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup* dropped through the door i wasn’t holding out much hope. A mineral foundation powder that claims to give you flawless skin in less than 60 seconds – i don’t think so. Oh how wrong i was.

This product is absolutely unbelievable. Honestly, i love it so much i have no idea where to start.

Let’s try packaging. I really enjoy the packaging on this product – it’s compact, clean, has a good size mirror in the lid and above all it’s really sturdy. I hate flimsy packaging on products like this but Purminerals have got this in the bag. The shade i have here is ‘Light’ and it’s spot on for me. I have a pale yellowy skin tone and usually wear Estee Lauder Double Wear in Ecru, this is quite similar if not ever so slightly darker (a good thing). This powder covers like a dream. It builds up so quickly and covers every blemish, imperfection and pore leaving your skin looking like it’s been photoshopped – no wonder i have such a big smile on my face! I just couldn’t believe the coverage it gives without looking powdery at the end of it, it’s incredible. It works as your concealer, foundation, powder and SPF all in one and makes a great base for your blusher and highlighters too.

Purminerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Review

I could quite happily wear it alone and still feel fantastic about my skin, but i’ve taken to patting on a little Bobbi Brown Corrector (review soon) over any blemishes followed by a thin layer of Estee Lauder Double Wear Light just for extra coverage before applying this powder. I think it’s just my own insecurities that make me do this extra step because it’s really not needed for coverage, but the finished look is gorgeous and it lasts all day long too. I use a Purminerals Brush* that was sent alongside the powder to apply it a the moment but it’s beginning to shed so i will be investing in a real techniques brush of a similar shape and size because this is perfect – apart from the rouge hairs it likes to leave on my face occassionally!

I am so impressed with this product i can’t put into words, if you have sensitive skin with uneven colouring or blemishes that you want to cover up without looking caked in makeup this powder is for you. I’m just over the moon and i will certainly be re-buying this again and again!
