Halloween Makeup Ideas | Poison Ivy

Poison ivy makeup, poison ivy makeup tutorial

I love Halloween and i love fancy dress even more so when Fragrance Direct got in touch the other week to see if i’d like to take on their Halloween Makeup Challenge I was quite excited! The look I was assigned was the sultry Batman villain Poison Ivy and as i’d never dressed up as her before I had great fun trying something completely new.

So here it is, my Poison Ivy Makeup look and no face paint in sight! If you’re looking for a last minute Halloween costume, i got you covered…let’s take a look at what’s on my face:

I started off with the Jemma Kid Stardust Creme Shadow in Aurora* under my eyes and as a base on my eyelids. It’s a great vivid colour perfect as a bright base for this Halloween makeup look. Next I just went crazy with the greens and greys in the Evie Mai Silk Collection 12 Colour Palette* around the edges of my face (where i would usually contour) building up the colour as much as i could. I also darkened the creases on my eyelids and extended the colour up towards my brows.

I used the Jemma Kid Tech Liquid Liner in Contrast* and Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner in Ahi* to further line my eyes and the Jemma Kid Liquid Liner also round the outside of my lips to make them look fuller and bring in a bit of green to a standard red lip. On my lips, eyebrows, cheeks and for the winged ‘eyeliner’ i used the W7 Deluxe Lipstick in Forever Red* and a lip brush but be warned, this stuff smudges and stains like buggery so be sure you’ve got a bottle of Lipcote and a whole pack of makeup remover wipes at the ready!

Next i took the Becca Jewel Dust Sparkeling Eye Powder in Nissa* and blotted this anywhere i needed a bit of sparkle – on my eyes and around my face which reflected the light in person beautifully with specs of red and green – perfect. Finally for my eyelashes i donned a couple of coast of the Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara* and I also used some purple cosmetic contacted lenses to create a more dramatic look!

The result is a subtle but interesting Poison Ivy Makeup look that is really easy to create! Just add a green dress and a red wig or spray in hair colour (hello 90’s school disco!) and you’re good to go – instant Halloween fun for that last minute party invite!

You can find all these makeup products on the Fragrance Direct website here for a rather fantastic price.
