My wonderful mum has very recently retired from a long career as a teacher and even though i’ve moved out we’ve been spending more time together than ever. She’s teaching me how to sew and i’m helping her do all the things she’s wanted to do for years but just hasn’t had the time for and i’m loving every second.
In August mum and I went to London for the day to see Wicked the musical and do some shopping together. I took my first ever handmade dress on it’s maiden voyage and treated us to Champagne in Selfridges before the show and it was such a special day. On the way back to the station we walked past a Pandora shop and mum suggested we go in and buy a charm to remember our first special mummy-daughter day which i though was the most wonderful idea in the world. I chose some champagne flutes for mum and she chose a dress for me and it was the perfect way to treasure our London memories forever and make us both smile when we look at our bracelets.
This weekend mum bought me my first ever sewing machine and it was a real iconic moment for me – one that i will look back on in fondness and tell my future children as i’m teaching them how to sew like my mum taught me. Because it was a special day i decided to treat mum as well and i took her for Champagne Afternoon Tea at one of my favourite places and surprised her with these two little Pandora charms carrying on our little Pandora tradition. I handed both the Teapot* (£40) and the Cupcake* (£40) over and asked mum to choose which one she liked the best and i had the other – together we make afternoon tea and another wonderful Pandora memory.
It may seem silly to some, but every time i look at my bracelet i’m reminded of the incredible moments i’ve shared with the people i love (notice my house charm in the middle too) and it fills me with so much love. Charm bracelets can be a great way to accessorize any outfit with their interchangeable coloured beads and they do look beautiful, but for me mine really mean something and are becoming a stunning way to remember all the important parts of my life that i can build on for years to come.
I received my Pandora charms from Joshua James, they have a huge range of Pandora charms perfect for special moments just like this.
