Derren Brown Miracle Review

Derren Brown Miracle Review

Out of all my Theatre and Film reviews this is possibly the easiest and the hardest to write. Last night Joe and I took a trip to De Montfort Hall in Leicester to watch Derren Brown’s newest live show – Miracle. Having seen his Something Wicked This Way Comes Tour back in 2006 I knew we were in for a treat, however aside from the trickery and amazement that comes along with Derren’s performances, this time we came away with something a little more.

With an interesting stage using lights, doors and projections it sets the scene for this mesmerizing show where Derren not only wows his audience with unbelievable tricks but also leads them on a journey of self-improvement. This show was exactly what I needed right now and I left the theatre glowing from the inside out. The entire drive home was spent deep in thought and even this morning I feel different. Good. Uplifted and unashamedly inspired.

Derren Brown Miracle Review

I’ve been asked not to give anything away about this show and in all honesty this was something that really didn’t need to be asked – to spoil the secrets of this incredible tour would be a crime and all I can say is that I urge you, if you can get your hands on a ticket, to go and see Miracle as soon as you are able. Allow yourself to be taken on a journey and prepare to be left speechless – apart from the standard ‘How on earth did he do that?!’ of course! Derren’s wit and showmanship is complete perfection creating an unequivocally faultless performance – beyond the amazement and wonder, everyone will take something different away from this show.

Like a secret club you leave the theatre a child again whispering between one another about what you’ve just witnessed knowing you can never tell anyone who hasn’t been a part of the show – our little magic secret. It was a truly awe-inspiring evening and one that we feel privileged to have been a part of. Inspiring, uplifting and truly incredible this is a show that must not be missed, if not only for the baffling trickery then for the power of self you take away with you that’s even more breathtaking than the magic.

Derren Brown Miracle is showing at De Montfort Hall in Leicester until the 4th July and runs throughout the UK until the 16th January 2016.
