Copper Balayage at The Bad Apple Salon, Bullring Birmingham

I’m always excited about discovering new hair sanctuaries for me to slink into for a good few hours, and Bad Apple have just opened a brand new one in the Bullring…inside Topshop!

As we’re into a new season I decided it’s time for an autumn hair shake up, and over the past couple of years I’ve been edging closer and closer to my dream colour – copper! I’m not overly brave with dying my hair due to the length and my inexperience, so I like to play around with toners as they fade naturally and evenly over time giving an almost risk-free colour change! But I needed a salon who were brave enough to help my copper dream become a reality!

It’s a bit strange heading through a clothes shop to get your hair done but once inside the petite but uber cool salon you completely forgot where you are and your afternoon transformation can begin!

The salon is super bright, very edgy with a fridge stocked full of alcoholic goodies to turn your hair treat into a proper day out. Or for those not fancying a tipple they also make darn good coffee (and have soy milk in for us problem children!) along with other soft drinks and some good magazines to get your nose into. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in and knew I was in for a lovely afternoon.

We started with a consult and patch test a couple of days before so my stylist and technician knew exactly what we were going for enabling us to crack straight on.

I was toned, trimmed and blow dried to perfection and the finished look was quite simply stunning. A lot more than I’d ever dared to go for before but I LOVE IT!!! With copper roots fading into my warm blonde balayage starting higher and brighter than before I felt like a new woman. And can we just talk about that bouncy blow dry?!?!?!

I loved my experience at the Bad Apple Salon and I’d 100% head back there again for a colour, cut or just a blow dry – these guys know how to work a barrel brush.

So the next time you’re looking to refresh your locks in the centre, head on upstairs to Topshop and see if the Bad Apple guys can fit you in – you won’t regret it!

*Bad Apple offered me a hair appointment of my choice in their new salon with no obligation to review. As always, opinions (and hair!) are all my own – I feel amazing after my transformation – highly recommended from the girl who doesn’t let just anyone touch her locks!
