A few weeks back Joe and I went to Birmingham for a belated birthday weekend away and we stopped over in style at The Rotunda Birmingham, a painfully cool apartment block smack bang in the centre of the city. We’ve stopped here before but I never got round to sharing with you lovely lot just how amazing this ‘hotel’ is. Towering over the city of Birmingham with residents and rentable-by-night apartments The Rotunda Birmingham is one of the most relaxed (and stylish) ways to spend a city break.
We stayed in a Mini Apartment* which is just perfect for two people staying the night. With a cleverly designed, kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom you’ve got everything you’d expect from a top hotel and more, making The Rotunda a great choice for those looking to relax in style and head out for the evening, or for those who want to explore during the day and stay in with a home-cooked meal and a bottle of wine in the evening.
Your apartment comes stocked with all the little things that make a ‘DIY Dinner Date’ possible. Olive Oil and balsamic for your bread and nibbles, Salt, Pepper, Cutlery, Plates an oven, Microwave (hidden in the cupboard!) and even some fresh oranges for your juicer in the morning! For a charge Staying Cool can also provide you with ingredients for a Full English in the morning or even Wine and Beer packages with snacks ready and waiting for you in the apartment which is a lovely touch, however if you need something specific there’s a Sainsbury’s Local about 5 minutes walk from The Rotunda where you can stock up on everything you need to cook up a storm!
As the name suggests The Rotunda is a round building which makes for some interesting shapes inside the apartments that can be a little confusing on the photos! I’ve filmed a 360° degree virtual tour of our apartment to show you just how cleverly design the space is, and for a bit more of an insight into what it feels like to stand at those floor to ceiling city view windows!
With a king size memory foam mattress bed you’re guaranteed a great night’s sleep at The Rotunda. Crisp white sheets and just-right pillows ensured I was out like a light when we retired to bed and didn’t stir until the morning. The Mini’s compact but perfectly formed bathroom comes complete with a monsoon shower, delicious smelling products and robes to strut around in – you don’t want to be flashing the neighbors with those impressive windows now do you!
We felt right at home at The Rotunda and absolutely loved our stay yet again – it really is a winner if you’re after a stylish place to stay in the center of the city where you can head out to explore or just keep yourself to yourself with a fridge full of bubbles!
You can book an apartment at The Rotunda Birmingham and see their other available rooms on the Staying Cool website.
