Best Spa Breaks in the UK | Overnight at Moddershall Oaks Luxury Spa
I’ve mentioned Moddershall Oaks a few times on the blog – for me, it’s the best spa in the Midlands.
Tranquil. Modern. Heavenly.
I’ve been to a few spa days at Moddershall Oaks but never actually stayed over, so with 10 newly renovated luxury suites it was about time to test them out on my first ever Overnight UK Spa Break!
We arrived at 3pm and checked in at reception. Greeted with a glass of fizz we filled out our treatment forms and received our schedules – pure relaxation until a delicious dinner at 7:30pm and a pair of heavenly massages after breakfast the next day.
Now that’s my kind of schedule.
We were shown to our suite which was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. Huge tv on the wall, scandi-style furniture with a touch of hygge and a mustard and grey colour scheme – just my style!
There were Elemis products in the bathroom, a very well stocked mini bar and a big old comfy bed to snooze on, all with bright green English countryside out the terrace window…bliss.
We spent our afternoon in the outdoor spa. Moddershall also has an indoor section with thermal baths, a swimming pool, heated beds and more but with weather as warm as it’s been recently we couldn’t resist chilling out in the fresh air.
Outside there’s comfy sun loungers, a traditional electric sauna, a relaxation room and the huge hot tub big enough to fit a football team! We relaxed on the sofas having a good old catch up over a glass of champagne…or three! And chilled out in the hot tub with the jets hitting our backs and waitress service from the bar.

Moddershall Oaks is such a calming place to be and I find that even when there’s other guests there it never feels crowded. It’s like your own personal retreat.
Before we knew it, it was time for dinner. We got dressed up and wandered down to the restaurant where we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated by the window looking out over their lake, it was beautiful.
Included in our spa break was a two course dinner and I couldn’t resist a big old fillet steak! It was cooked to perfection and washed down nicely with a very reasonably priced bottle of Argentinian Malbec. I also tried out the pea veloute to start and my spa partner in crime went for the lamb which were both delectable.
After dinner we went back to our room for more relaxing (and wine!) in our personal hot tub! Little did I know but there’s actually a small 8 person hot tub reserved for guests staying overnight that’s open until 10pm. So we hopped in and chilled out some more in the bubbles as the sun set over the hill.
After an incredible night’s sleep we pottered down for breakfast which was included in our spa break. Great choice of hot dishes and fresh coffee in the restaurant once again. Thoroughly enjoyable even for a non-morning person like me!
And then it was massage time! I’ve had a few different treatments at Moddershall and they’re consistently great. This time I went for a traditional deep tissue full body massage which was SO needed after a stressful week hunched over my laptop.
My therapist Lea was amazing and listened to all the areas I needed to focus on leaving my whole body feeling like jelly with my knots disappearing in just an hour on the bed.
After our treatments we had access to the spa again to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the British countryside before checking out.
I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a weekend or a couple of cheeky mid week days – every aspect of our stay was wonderful and I couldn’t fault it at all. This place is SERIOUSLY good.
