Oh my god you guys! This might totally be the best musical I’ve seen in like, forever!
I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t love Legally Blonde. A true noughties classic with girl power, romance and a whole lot of pink – it’s one of my absolute favourites!
So when I heard it had made it onto the stage and was coming on tour I bent and snapped up those tickets faster than you can say Bruiser!
Legally Blonde follows the story of Elle Wood a sorority princess with a big heart and love for her college boyfriend Warner, who on the night she thought he might propose actually dumps her instead!
Warner goes off to study law at Harvard and leaves Elle feeling worthless and heartbroken, until she has an idea to win him back…what if Elle also got into Harvard to study law, but most importantly get back the love of her life!
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this one. I knew it would be silly, cheesy, fun and very pink! But I had no idea it would shoot into the collection of my favourite musicals! What a fun night!
The songs are absolutely fabulous and left us rushing home to find the soundtrack that has been on repeat ever since! Such clever lyrics and adaptation of the film which ran smoothly on stage with all our favourite parts thrown in! Lucie Jone’s (Elle) voice is just incredible as is her physicality as the Elle we all know and love. Couple that with Rita Simons comedy and you’ve got a winning twosome who keep you giggling and smiling the whole way through.
…But there’s no denying Bruiser and Rufus totally stole the show!
With super catchy tunes, feel-good storyline, adorable costumes and a brilliant cast, Legally Blonde the musical is a smash hit and one I strongly suggest you grab tickets for….like, now!
