Gel Nails at Home in Just 60 Seconds | Gelled LED Nail Kit

Gelled LED Nail Kit Review

Gelled LED Nail Kit Review (3)

I’m a big gel nails fan – being so busy it’s great to have polish that lasts for up to 4 weeks without chipping and let’s face it, we all love a trip to the spa to have them done too! I used to have a nail lamp and the whole gel shebang to do my own at home but it was so fiddly I ended up giving it away to a friend and going back to normal polish.

A few weeks ago I was sent the Gelled LED Nail Kit* to trial – an LED gel nail kit without a base or a top coat that claims to cure your gel polish in just 60 seconds. Sounds too good to be true…Gelled LED Nail Kit Review (4)

Your kit comes with a battery (or USB) powered LED curing lamp, a file, orange stick and wrap foils to remove your gels along with a cherry red and beautiful mauve nude polish. I tried my kit out half an hour before Joe and I went out for a dinner date in true ‘put it to the time test’ spirit and you know what? This kit is a game changer.

I went for the nude colour which turned out just perfect on my nails and was actually pretty opaque in only one coat. Simply buff your nails and de-hydrate with polish remover (you can watch my video here for a super easy nail prep tutorial) before painting on the Gelled polish being careful to avoid the cuticles and round the edges of your nails. Grab the lamp, time for 60 seconds and you’re done, it’s as simple as that.

I still had about 25 minutes to kill so I went for another layer and my nails looked amazing – I couldn’t believe it. Bone dry and no stickiness in site! My nails lasted nearly two weeks before I noticed a chip on my thumb and slight lifting at the edge of a pinky.Gelled LED Nail Kit Review (5)

Make sure when you apply your polish to properly cover the tips and leave a little gap around your cuticles and the sides of your nails as any lift when curing (on the cuticle or skin) could leave your polish prone to lifting. Also do make sure you prep your nails properly before applying like you would with any normal polish to help them last for longer.

It would be great to have a beeper on the lamp to tell you when your 60 seconds is up but apart from that addition I honestly can’t fault this product and I just had to share it with you because I think it’s the cat’s pyjamas. I’ve got the party pack of polishes too but i’m tempted to splash out on those pastels as well as I think this nude polish is going to get used a LOT over the next few months. It’s also super portable so you can take it away with you for gorgeous gel nails on a weekend away or holiday…brilliant!Gelled LED Nail Kit Review (2)

So if you’re constantly smudging your polish after painting or if your bank balance is dwindling from all those nail appointments then you need to give this bad boy a go – I can’t recommend it enough!

You can grab your kit from High Street TV for just £39.95!
