In two weeks time I’m heading to V Festival for a weekend of amazing music and hopefully lots of sunshine in a field. But let’s be honest, unlike my visit to Fresh Island Festival in Croatia last month, with an English festival there’s an eternal threat of rain and ultimately a giant muddy musical mess!
Wellies are a massive part of festival fashion with knee high socks and denim shorts but what if the rain doesn’t come and your feet are stuck sweltering in your plastic boots in a rare British summer day?! Foldable shoes are nothing new, I used to have a little pair of black ballerinas that I would take on night’s out with me for emergencies, but they were incredibly uncomfortable and started to split after about three uses…not so great! These bad boys come with two elastic bands and fold down to the size of a pair of brogues which make them perfect for throwing in your bag if there’s a chance of rain. Once unfolded they make for a durable, 100% waterproof and pretty darn cute pair of wellies that are really comfortable – perfect for jumping up and down to your favourite band to without worrying about ruining your sandals or shoes in the mud! And if you’re lucky enough to get great weather then you can pop on a pair of the Butterfly Twist flats instead which despite folding up to a clutch bag friendly size are actually really comfy, and unlike a lot of other fold up shoes they have a decent sole with elastic that doesn’t dig in around the edge! I’ve got the gold glitter pair and I often wear them out and about without utilising their transforming powers because they’re so darn cute and comfy!
They’re not the cheapest but these babies are built to last so grab yourself a couple of pairs as an emergency shoe investment – your feet will thank you the next time you get caught in the rain or in that killer pair of heels on a Saturday night/morning!
