Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Review

I love my Double Wear foundation, but a month or so back i decided it was a little bit too heavy my problem skin moving into spring and i decided to give it’s partner in crime a go – Double Wear Light.

How does it feel?

The texture of Double Wear Light is lovely, very creamy, smooth and applies wonderfully with a stippling brush all over the face and any blemishes. The coverage is buildable whilst staying dewy and it’s very blendable without drying too quickly which i found to be a bit of a problem with the Original Double Wear. It doesn’t tend to cover blemishes as well as the original double wear although it gives it a good go. If you’re used to the Original Double Wear you might want to keep that concealer you put away a while ago handy when switching to Light.

How long does it last?

Bearing in mind i’ve worn the original double wear during a 5K marathon in the pouring rain and still had a perfect complexion at the end of it, Double Wear Light has a lot to live up to! I am happy to announce however that it’s wear is still pretty good, and although it may not stand up to 5K in the rain, it handles an 8 hour day in the office well and is still presentable at the end of it. For me the main differences between Double Wear light and it’s predecessor are the finish and the coverage. Original Double Wear creates more of a matte look where as the Light stays dewy throughout the day and where Original is a very high coverage foundation, Light is more of a medium to high coverage.

I’d definitely buy Double Wear Light again as i’m a huge fan of the brand and now’s the time of year when you want to making a move to a lighter face too. The coverage is enough to hide troubled skin whilst still staying dewy and light, and although i seem to be nearing the end of my tube a lot quicker than the original it’s still worth the price tag in my eyes.

You can pick up a bottle of Estee Lauder Double Wear Light from the Debenhams website for £27.50!
