This is the last post in my #AAAinCroatia series and I’m so sad it’s coming to an end! We’ve been Wine Tasting at Hotel Boskinac, Swimming in the Krka National Park Waterfalls, Partying at Fresh Island Festival after arriving on a speedboat and Relaxing on Private Beaches with massages looking over the sea…what a trip!
On our last day we took a trip to Lun to an Olive Garden for a tour and to find out how they produce their lovely Croatian Olive Oil before taking a wander around Zadar Old Town.
We took a buggy round the huge Olive Garden because the weather was verging on 40OC on our last day – wowzers! Our tour guide taught us about the different types of trees, who owns them and how they grow. Did you know that olive trees only grow around 1mm per year?! Amazing!

In The Olive Garden they bond trees together to create bigger fruit – the size difference is amazing! We found out how they create olive oil and when to pick the fruit for the best taste, as a big foodie it was such a fascinating tour.
Naughty sheep eating up the fallen olives!
After our tour we had the opportunity to buy lots of lovely products made from the olive tree wood – bowls, jewellery, candle holders and kitchen bits and bobs. We picked up our goodies and made our way back to the sea front for a spot of lunch before travelling over to Zadar Old Town.

After lunch Amy and I took a trip to Zadar Old Town for a few hours before our flight. We’d both wanted to see if and have a wander round, so after a quick ice cream stop we hit the streets snapping photos and taking in the interesting buildings in the town.
During our time in Zadar we met a wonderful old man who gave us directions and some history about his city. In world war II Zadar had over 60% of it’s buildings destroyed which shows when you look around and up (no-one ever looks up these days) in the mismatch of old and new. It was such a beautiful city and I would have loved to had spent a little more time there, and with our new friend!
The city was gently buzzing with people playing in the sea, drinking coffee outside and live music being set up in the square – Zadar is definitely on my ‘explore more’ list along with Dubrovnik and more of Croatia as a whole.
After our stop in Zadar it was time to head back to the airport for our flight home after a wonderful 4 days in Croatia. We had an incredible time and got to do so many wonderful things – a huge thank you to ASOS, Slydes and Croatia Wave I’m so grateful for everything we got to do and see. I would have never thought about visiting Croatia until our #AAAinCroatia journey but now I can’t wait to go back.
