What I Wore | The Staple Striped Shirt

The other week Matalan got in touch and asked if I would like to take part in their Spring staples campaign styling up this gorgeously flowy blue and white striped shirt along with a few other bloggers from across the country. We were given the task of styling up our shirt and rocking it out and about in our city which if that isn’t the best job in the world I don’t know what is! So I got set scouring the Matalan website to build my outfit and headed off into Birmingham for an afternoon of shopping and daytime drinkies!

I feel like at the moment I live in black skinny jeans. They’re just so versatile aren’t they?! The shirt itself is a relaxed fit (perfect for throwing on over shorts on a warm summer day too) but I fancied giving it a bit of shape for my daytime look. Instead of simply tucking it in I decided to channel my inner Britney and tie it up at the front and I just love the shape it gives the shirt! What do you think?

Paired with this gorgeous and surprisingly roomy envelope clutch and a pair of super comfy trainers I completely adore my finished look…if I do say so myself! And if you swapped the trainers for heels, rolled up the sleeves and tucked in the shirt I think it would make a super easy day to night look too.

I’ve taken my pictures by the canal between Brindley Place and The Mailbox. It’s a fantastic place to walk on a sunny day connecting the two (in my opinion) places for food and drink in Brum. There’s also a couple of pubs along the way if you get thirsty and fancy a pitstop!

Couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday!
