On Monday I hopped on a train to London to meet my friend Lauren and spend a morning floating down the Thames drinking tea! PG tips were holding a very special tea party for us bloggers on a boat to share with us their new range of delicious green teas*!

Now I’m not a green tea lover. I know I should be drinking it – anti oxidents, metabolism blah blah blah – but I’ve never found one I can actually stand the taste of, as far as I was concerned they were bitter and never going to replace my good old builders brew…turns out I was wrong!

We hopped on board a rocky boat by Tower Bridge to be greeted with a faux-grass garden party, deck chairs, fresh flowers and a fab buffet! We settled ourselves on a table with some delicious mocktails and a cup of the new PG tips Strawberry Cupcake flavour Green Tea. Yeah, strawberry cupcake flavour green tea, that’s a thing now and guess what – it’s delicious! No bitter after taste, just a light strawberry flavour tea with a hint of creaminess – I couldn’t believe it!

We set sail down the Thames and halfway though our journey we were told to move to the right side of the boat for a surprise. Low and behold there was the PG tips monkey in all it’s topiary glory made out of green tea leafs and floating on the water! The PG tips Green Tea Monkey is made from over 110,000 green tea leaves and is pretty darn impressive, keep your eyes peeled for him around London once he’s finished swimming! After waving goodbye to monkey we pottered back inside to finish our delicious food and grab another cup of green tea!

This time we tried the raspberry version and this is what swung it for me, I’m officially a green tea convert! This one is simply delicious and as I’m writing this post I’m sat with my second cup of the day after managing to swipe a box on my way off the boat! If you’re a self-confessed green tea hater, give this a go and thank me later – there may or not be another three boxes in my Ocado basket for next week’s shop.
