As a beauty blogger I get sent a lot of new products to try which is one of the best job perks ever ammiright? I love trying new makeup and skincare products but do I often find myself reaching for certain items more than others on a daily basis, so these are my current hero products!
Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Pads – I can’t tell you exactly what Dragon’s Blood is or what it does but I see it in a lot of things recently. My skin absolutely drinks it up after cleansing with these Nip + Fab pads leaving my face super glowy and plump afterwards – they’re fantastic for cleansing on the go. Currently researching more products with this mysterious ingredient in to smother entire body in it, seriously, it’s that good. (NB: Don’t worry it’s a type of tree sap, bright red in colour, not actual Dragon’s Blood!)
Kiehl’s Pure Vitality Skin Renewing Cream – A new product on the market from one of my favourite skincare brands. This new moisturiser from Kiehl’s actually contains Manuka honey to help brighten and moisturise skin. The texture took a bit of getting used to as it’s quite firm and slightly sticky until massaged in but it really does leave your skin looking glowy and nicely hydrated throughout the day. My new go-to day moisturiser, worth a try.
Rodial XXL Dragon’s Blood Lip Plumper – Hey, it’s that Dragon’s thingy again. Another product with the miracle sap this time from Rodial in a lip pen that claims to plump up your lips. And guess what? It actually works! It feels strange, tingly and I can see a noticeable difference in my lips after applying. I tend to put it on before my makeup to give it chance to plump away but honestly it really does what it says on the tin! A must try.
Super Facialist Anti-Blemish Purify and Refresh Face Scrub – I’d been looking for a face scrub that actually feels like it’s doing something for a while and then this dropped through my door! Having never used anything from Super Facialist before I was curious and also a little dubious it would do what I wanted, but guys, this is possibly the best face scrub I’ve ever used…and I don’t say that lightly. You can feel it actually exfoliating your skin unlike other weak scrubs but it’s still incredibly gentle and causes no redness. My skin feels and looks amazing after exfoliating with this bad boy, I can’t rave about it enough. 10/10.
Lanolips Golden Ointment – The lip balm to beat ALL lip balms. I’m a bit of an obsessive when it comes to lip balms and creams, forever seeming to have chapped and sore lips. I’ve tried a lot, the best before this being Dr Lipp which also contains lanolin but tastes quite nasty (in my opinion). So all hail a lanolin lip balm that actually tastes amazing – Lanolips! Now this comes in multiple flavours of which I adore the original (tastes like honey) and the peach, but this thick balm is just heavenly and honestly cures lips overnight. I even suffer from splits at the side of my mouth when I get run down and a couple of days with this applied…gone. 11/10.
NEOM Energy Burst Perfume – My favourite candle and body oil makers have created a perfume and it’s bloody gorgeous! Both my living room and the shelf in my bathroom are like a NEOM shop, I can’t get enough of their products (the best candles on the market, fact) so when this popped through my door I let out an audible squeal. It’s fresh, super fresh, like cutting into a ripe grapefruit and it lingers so beautifully on the skin. If you’re into your citrus scents that lift you up and make you feel ready to take on the world then this one is for you.
YSL Touche Eclat Foundation – I cannot believe I have been wearing makeup for over 10 years and I’ve never tried a YSL foundation, but here we are, converted. The Touche Eclat foundation is possibly the most glowy foundation I’ve ever put on my skin and I can’t get enough of it. Light to medium coverage I would say but builds well and makes even my practically see through skin look fabulous. This is my go-to foundation when I’m sans-tan for a super plump perfect English rose finish. Love it. (Their Touche Eclat primer is really good too!)
Smashbox Halo Highlighting Wand – And last but not least a liquid highlighter from Smashbox that caught my eye as soon as I got it out the box. With a brush nib you simply click some of the product out and brush onto the high points of your face and blend to leave a stunningly natural glow that stays all day and just looks fabulous. I’ve not used a liquid highlighter for a while but I’m totally converted!
