.Makeup Atelier Paris Lipstick and Gloss | Review and Swatch.

Makeup Atelier is a new brand for me but i always like to give a good lippy a go, so when they sent through this Lipstick in Gypsy* and Starshine Lipgloss in Mangue* i was keen to get swatching.

Let’s start with the lippy – such a pretty shade of pink! Quite pigmented and moisturising on the lips with a slight frost finish. Normally i’m a matte lipstick girl but lately i’ve found myself being a bit more open to different finishes (having even bought a frost finish from MAC myself last weekend) so this makes a nice change to my existing lipstick collection. The lasting power is pretty good with this one too, being a light colour it’s not always as noticeable when the colour starts to feather but it usually lasts me until elevenses before i need a touch up. The packaging is nice and simple too with a sturdy lid that should survive being thrown into the pit of my handbag – always a bonus!

I’m not a major lip gloss fan. I just don’t like the shiny lip look (flashbacks to my teenage years in the 00’s *shudders*) or the stickiness that comes with it trapping any strands of flyaway hair at the slightest gust of wind. However this one isn’t as offensive as i first thought(!) leaving behind a slight sheen without looking or feeling sticky as you can see in my second photo, phew. It also enhances the colour of your lippy underneath as these two shades compliment each other perfectly which is quite nice.

While i don’t think i’m fully converted to the ways of the lipgloss, i do like the feel of Makeup Atelier lipstick so Gypsy has officially gained a place in my morning makeup stash to add a bit of colour on a dull weekday morning!

You can find these Makeup Atelier lippies on their website HERE for £14.50 along with a range of other beautiful shades.

Have you tried anything from the Makeup Atelier line? What do you think of their lipsticks?
