Festival Beauty Essentials

Festival Beauty Essentials, What to take to a festival

Festival Beauty Essentials (1)

I’m going to V-Festival this year and I couldn’t be more excited! My very first festival and the line-up looks absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to get well and truly stuck in to the festival spirit and of course all the fashion and beauty hacks that come along with it!

Ok ok, I’ll hold my hands up – I’m not camping. Knowing that I can enjoy the music, the atmosphere and still come home to my comfy warm bed is the best thing ever for me but for those of you who are stopping over and going full hog I’ve put together my Festival Beauty Essentials to make sure you’re looking gorgeous throughout the whole weekend! Lots of mini products in here as well for the ‘hotel team’ to slip in your handbag and make sure you’re glam is topped up throughout the day and you’re always on point for a flawless festival photo!

The Holy Grail Of Festival Beauty

Batiste Dry Shampoo (from £1.99) – I’m pretty sure every girl who walks through the gates of a festival has a couple of Batiste cans rattling around in their bag – either full size or mini! An absolute essential for keeping super hot or rained on hair looking fresh for the weekend. Batiste are by far the best i’ve tried and they have a range of scents to suit every scalp. Right now I’m loving their Eden range although I feel as if I need to be wearing Ella Henderson’s creation for V Fest this year!

Makeup Wipes (from 99p) – A dirty word in the beauty world but makeup remover wipes are an essential for any festival. Leave your Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish at home girls and go back to your teenage makeup removing roots with this handy little packet, your skin will forgive you just for this weekend. While you’re at it Femfresh do handy pack of feminine wipes (£1.59) to keep you feeling fab ‘down there’ while you’re camping out too – not the most glamorous product I’ve ever mentioned on the blog a bloomin’ useful one – you’re welcome.

A Beauty Refresher

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist (£16.50) – When it’s hot and sticky sometimes all you want to do is dunk your head into a bucket of cold water. While this isn’t the best idea for festival beauty, unless ‘the joker being dumped in a rainstorm look’ is your thing, I’ve got a great solution for freshening up throughout the day – the Jurlique Rose Water Face Mist. I’ve been using this for years and I absolutely love it. Similar to MAC Fix + but even better this face mist gives you a wonderfully smelling hit of much needed moisture that cools you down, refreshes your makeup and treats your skin from the outside of your makeup in. Just the right size for your handbag and with a wonderfully calming rose scent, a real essential for me, especially if it’s set to be a scorcher!

The ‘All-In-One Product’

Magic Minerals* (£9.99)  – Dubbed as ‘An Instagram Filter For Your Face’ this product has really surprised me and has fast become a must have handbag hottie. Applied with its very own sponge this mineral powder primes, conceals, covers and brightens the skin all in one go matching your skin tone and creating a beautiful finish. Even on my red, blotchy and acne prone face it works wonders and although a product I initially discarded (I’m a liquid foundation and concealer girl) I actually really love it and it’s PERFECT for a festival when packing space and time are limited. A real all-in-one hero product.

Essential Glow

No7 Instant Radiance (£9.95) – I’ve raved about this product again and again on xameliax. Nothing hides a sleepy/hungover/festival face better than a bit of shimmer and highlight, and what better way to do that than with a giant crayon! No brushes, no pans of powder to worry about smashing in your backpack, just a tube of pure sunshine that you can sweep across your cheeks and look instantly wide awake and glorious. On the higher end Benefit’s Watts Up is just as good and comes with its own little blending sponge too!

YSL Touche Eclat (£19.95) –  For those under-eye bags we’re voting for a classic – the Yves St Laurent Touche Eclat. Light coverage that won’t gather in creases or dry you out with a highlighting shimmer to brighten and open up those tired little eyes. In an easy to use clicker pen this is a little bit of luxury that will help you feel and look amazing…and prevent a lot of touching up of the digital variety afterwards which wastes valuable phone battery!

Marvelous Miniatures

Benefit Operation Pore-Proof* (£28.50) – Priming your skin is key for a flawless face and especially one that lasts. Benefit have got some many superhero priming products it would be impossible to bring them all along with you  – unless you’ve got one of those magical tents from Harry Potter with a makeup counter and mirror set up in the corner! Introducing their new Operation Pore-Proof Kit with miniatures of all their best priming products perfect for travel or for festival weekends away! Porefessional – a creamy primer that vanishes pores on contact, Agent Zero Shine a killer powder, Shy Beam – a matte highlighter, Dr Feel Good – a scarily effective skin smoother and their new licence to blot – a mattifying balm to save shiny bits across the world! Such an adorable little kit and a great way to try out all these products!

Everybody’s Free To Wear Sunscreen

Benefit Dream Screen (£25) – Last but not least a beauty essential that’s also pretty darn important for your skin too – Suncream. Hopefully the sun will be shining for V Festival this year but the last thing you want is sunburn, trust me. Some suncreams can wreak havoc with your skin but for me Benefit’s Dream Screen is a lifesaver and my face loves it. With super high protection and a gorgeous silky feel it’s a must have for any festival goer this season and a real winner in my books.

Do you suffer from Prickly Heat or Heat Rash in the summer?

Check out my post on how to stop it before you head to your festival – you won’t believe how easy it is to beat!!!
