Hey hey! We’re another week into the year and this one’s been great – for a start I’ve finally started to feel better and we’ve also just had a four day weekend over the Easter Bank Holiday, woo! My week started with lots of work as usual, editing vlogs, scheduling blog posts and even painting nail art for a tutorial which I haven’t done for a long long time…I’m a little rusty! I haven’t braved the gym yet because I’m determined to fully shake this flu before getting back out there to (hopefully)prevent another relapse but I’m definitely ready to start exercise again when I can.
I went out for lunch with my mum mid-week and we also went to see Avenue Q which was hilarious – if you get a chance to see it on the tour then 100% do! I’ve been feeling a little flat on blog and video ideas recently with my illness knocking me down so you may have noticed a few empty days – I’d love for you to leave me an idea of what you’d like to see on xameliax.com and on my youtube channel so I can start building up another ideas list!
Friday was the start of our Bank Holiday and due to a missed alarm on Thursday morning (thanks iphone update!) I still had some work to do, luckily that work was just cake baking for a post tomorrow so it wasn’t a bad way to spend my day off! I whipped up my first ever flourless cake and took my gorgeous Denby teapot for a spin when Lucy came round for a taste test! We had a lovely catch up over some zesty cake and Earl Grey tea before she pottered off home and I settled in for a night on my own while Joe went out with the boys!
Saturday Joe and I went to Birmingham to watch Batman Vs Superman at The Electric Cinema which is the oldest working cinemas in the UK! We booked a sofa and were even able to text our waitress to bring extra drinks throughout the movie, now THAT’s how you see a film in style! Afterwards we went over to the new Beefeater Bar & Block* restaurant for dinner and to test out their new steakhouse and boooooy was it good! I ordered their spiral cut steak which was marinated in garlic and it was incredible – HIGHLY recommended if you like your meat!
On Sunday Joe had booked us into The Titanic Hotel in Liverpool for a romantic night away – something we haven’t done in a long time and were both really looking forward to. When we arrived and checked into our stunning room there was a huge bouquet of flowers waiting for me that Joe had ordered ahead of our visit and I was blown away. They’re sat in the living room now as I write this smelling so beautiful – lilies are my favourite.
We popped a bottle of champagne, relaxed in our stunning room whilst getting ready and then went downstairs for rum cocktails and a tasty three course meal in the hotel restaurant. I’ve done a full tour of our HUGE hotel room in my vlog if you’re interested in having a snoop and I’ll tell you about our Bank Holiday Monday adventures next week!
