Another jam-packed week of events, theatre and fun with friends! Last week started with my poor little car going in for a service because it had developed a strange knocking sound and grinding on the brake peddle – not good! So Dad booked me in with a garage he knows and I spent the day with Mum eating afternoon tea at M&S and chit chatting away. She’s down for a hip replacement in the next couple of weeks so while we’re waiting for that to come she’s not been up to much as her leg is quite painful but she just about managed a cup of tea and lots of pretty cakes!
In the evening my friend Paula and I went along to intu Derby’s Dare 2 Dine event – a mysterious affair in their Showcase Cinema Deluxe Directors Lounge that none of us knew anything about before we arrived! It turns out they’d put on a cult classic film – Pulp Fiction, a live band, photobooth and a very cleverly designed menu throughout the film with food from retailers inside the shopping centre! As the movie went along we were brought out food such as a Royal with Cheese, $5 Milkshake, Pancakes, Coffee and so much more that coincided with the film in front of us! We were bursting at the seams when we left but had a brilliant night and I do hope intu put on more of the same in the future – thanks guys!
On Wednesday evening I took my friend Mallory to see Annie in Birmingham after a stressful day with plans changing left right and centre! We had a barrel of laughs at the show (read my review and book your tickets here) before sitting down for a glass of prosecco next to Craig Revel Horwood himself!
On Saturday Joe and I went into Birmingham to review the new Pizza Express Autumn Menu which is AMAZING!!! There will definitely be a blog post coming soon for that one, we were so stuffed I could barely finish my Salted Caramel Profiteroles! After lunch we took to the Bullring so I could buy all the bits I needed for my Christmas Present Haul blog next month…now that was fun! After a successful afternoon shopping we sat down on the patio of Browns for a couple of cocktails before heading back home to rest up for our day at Alton Towers!
Sunday was Scarefest 2015!!! We go every year and absolutely love it and this year was no exception! I vlogged our day so you’ll be able to catch that on Sunday but this year the mazes were 10 times creepier, the actors were hilarious and we had such a great day riding coasters, eating bottomless pizza and taking in the Halloween atmosphere all round – if you’ve never been you must get tickets, it’s so much fun!
