I do love a new Barry M collection especially at this time of year, they always seem to deliver the best range of glitters and beautiful fall shades to suit paler skin tones and perfect party looks. This year they haven’t dissapointed with a brand new glitter range, additions to their silk and aquarium polishes and three new nail paints that i absolutely adore. Barry’s also brought out three new eye and cheek palettes with some beautiful Autumn colours that certainly deserve a mention, so let’s take a look!
(from left to right – Rockstar*, Catwalk Queen*, VIP*, Fashion Icon*, Socialite*, Starlet*)
Who doesn’t love a bit of glitter, especially at this time of year! This collection is so beautiful and called out to my inner magpie as soon as i saw the bottles. Solid in just two coats (and not that tricky to remove) the Glitterati collection has a colour for everyone and makes a beautiful accent to any mani. I love the deep purple of Fashion Icon and the coral red of Starlet – they’ll certainly be making an appearance in some manicures soon!
New Nail Paints (Starting at £2.99)
(from left to right – Twlight*, Nightshade*, Vintage Violet*, Ballerina*)
I can’t get enough of all three of these stunning deep creme shades. With dark berry hues and a grey pinks they are the perfect transition from summer to autumn and i’ve been wearing Nightshade and Vintage violet non-stop since they dropped through my door. Barry M have also released a limited edition glitter – Twilight – which is simply stunning too. Silver with a slight purple hue it’s perfect for layering over their dark new nail paints or rocking alone as a totally 90’s glitter accent.
(from left to right – Orchid*, Persian*, Atlantis*)
I loved the pastel Silk colours from earlier in the year and i love this pretty purple shade too. I was also suprised at how much i enjoyed the new purple aquarium colour Persian as i’m not usually a shimmer fan. It’s a stunning duo-chrome polish that shines purple to gold in different lights and is perfect just on it’s own – i found myself staring at my ever-changing nails far too many times when wearing this! If you’re into chunky glitter toppers then definitely try to get your hands on the new aquarium glitter Atlantis – bit too chunky for me but layered up looks interesting all the same.
The Palettes (£6.49)
We have three eye palettes this time, two of which are limited edition and one a followup to their popular Natural Glow palette coined the affordable Naked Basics Dupe! Being a natural shadow girl i thought i’d be swayed by the Natural Glow 2 Palette* but although lovely my heart belongs to the two limited edition sets Starry Eyed* and Super Chic* (Super Chic exclusive to Superdrug) with their mix of complex golds, gorgeous coppers and very wearable browns. Both the Natural Glow and Super Chic palettes come with a primer, whereas the Starry Eyed set sports a lovely coral blush. Personally i like the edition of the primer for Barry M as i find the blush squares a little too small to use effectivly but it’s a nice touch all the same.
While great value for money, Barry M’s eye shadows can’t rival the likes of Urban Decay or MAC for consistency and pigmentation – i find them a little on the chalky side – however with a spritz of MAC Fix + on my brush i find they apply nicely and do build up to a lovely colour with a little effort. Primer is needed to keep them hanging around all day, but lucky for us we already have that in two of the sets! I think these would make a fantastic gift or edition to anyone’s makeup drawer and a great way to increase your colour stash without breaking the bank.
You can find the new Barry M Autumn collections on their website starting at just £2.99
