.April Flavrbox 2013 | Review.

It’s that time again…yay Flavrbox*! This month is a hefty one with lots of variety and tasty bits to get stuck into so lets take a look at what’s inside:

Seggiano Organic Linguine – Another giant packet of food ready to eat for dinner! This pasta is a real luxury item and you can honestly tell the difference between traditional pasta and this Tuscan treat. Slow dried for 26 hours in temperatures to seal in the proteins and gluten it may look a bit rougher but it grabs any sauce you put on it (including the next lovely item) and tastes amazing. Love this stuff and there’s enough for two in this month’s box, hoorah!

Seggiano Raw Basil Pesto – Pesto is one of my favourite things to eat. A couple of teaspoons into plain pasta and i’m super happy but only if the pesto is good quality….like this one. If your a pesto fan you’ll never reach for a jar of Sacla again after tasting this! Sweet, nutty and packed full of basil it’s the best jarred pesto i’ve ever tasted and i will certainly be hunting this down from now on.

The Garlic Farm Sweet Garlic Cloves in Oil – It’s a toss up between the raw basil pesto and this little tub for my favourite April Flavrbox item. I’m a huge garlic fan (sorry Mr Cullen) so these really didn’t last long once my box was opened! Whole garlic cloves marinated in mixed herbs and oil ready to eat and enjoy alone or with pretty much anything. These were simply delicious and i will definitely be ordering some more – such a great snack and amazing with wine and your tapas board!

Olive Branch Olive Oil Jam – We’ve had an olive oil jam before from Flavrbox last year so i’m pleased that i got a different flavour to try this time round and i think i actually prefer it to the strawberry i received last time too! It’s like a mixture between jam and honey and tastes lovely on toast or even over porridge to brighten up your breakfast!

Kandula Pink Ceylon Tea – I’m not sure if you’re aware, but i love a good cup of tea so getting the chance to try a blend i’ve never heard of before is a real treat for me! Pink Ceylon tea is the first naturally pink tea all the way from Sri Lanka that is perfect for any time of the day. The flavour of this pink coloured green tea is so delicate and pure it would be delicious hot or cold and as it contains ‘superfood’ hibiscus flower properties it’s pretty great for your body too! I’ve been thoroughly enjoying this giant box of high quality tea in temples and will certainly have to buy some more for the summer months.
