Another week over and we’re so close to Christmas I can almost smell the wrapping paper from here! I had a lovely steady week last week with enough going on to keep me going but with some super relaxing downtime too – the best of both worlds! On Monday I went to get a bracket fixed on my brace (so close to the end, I can’t believe it!) so I worked at mum and dad’s after my appointment so I could go to my old kickboxing class in the evening. I really miss it but it’s now over an hour away from me so it’s just not practical but I try to go as often as I can when I’m around. In the afternoon my blog was hacked and needless to say I went into meltdown! You guys were so supportive on twitter and after two hours of frantic phone calls and web chats we were up and running again no harm don – PHEW! I went to kickboxing and let out all my frustrations on a few pads – it was fantastic therapy and I hadn’t forgotten as much as I thought!
Tuesday Joe and I went to our first pantomime as adults – Peter Pan – and it was absolutely brilliant! Wednesday I painted my first Christmassy nails of the year (with a tutorial here if you wanted to give them a go) and got a little something from Slendertone through the post which will certainly help me get back into shape in the new year!
Wednesday was lots of work in the day and an event with The Bullring in the evening to take a look at their Christmas bits and bobs from some of the stores. Selfridges has got the festive period nailed with loads of personalised items including personalised bottles of Moet (my fave!) and baubles like the one that was in our goodie bag – so cute and they can be done within minutes in store! We also saw lots of new and very glitzy party wear from Topshop and Oasis…speaking of which, did you know I’m on the Bullring website with my top party dress picks?! Check me out, there’s my little face look!
On Thursday my new camera arrived – The Olympus Pen with a very snazzy 12mm lens. I’ve been thinking about buying it for ages and I’m so glad I did – I’ve been having a little play already and it’s beautiful, I can’t wait to give it a proper go over Christmas! I baked some delicious Bakewell Mince Pies (my first proper baking video is coming this Wednesday – I hope you like it!!!) and made a fiery Moroccan Lamb Stew. Joe woke me up on Saturday morning with a Christmas Costa after his haircut and we pottered into Birmingham for some lunch and a mooch around the German markets.
We went to the new Bill’s for lunch and it was amazing! There’s going to be a review coming up soon for that one so keep those eyes peeled and if you’re in the Bullring then definitely give it a go. After lunch we took stroll around the Christmas Markets and picked a new decoration for our tree. Saturday evening we had some friends round to watch the boxing and Sunday was spent relaxing in front of the TV, catching up with Joe’s parents after their holiday and eating naughty takeaways…diet starts again today!
