I’ve always been scared of hair dye. When you have hair as long as mine you get pretty attached to it, so anyone coming at your with scissors or chemicals that might mean months of growing out can be pretty terrifying!
My hair is naturally mousey coloured which I’ve always found a bit of a ‘non-shade’ and my ultimate hair visions have been deep chocolate with my natural highlights shining through. Sadly that much of a colour change comes with some serious roots and a LOT of upkeep if you want to keep your ‘I was born this way’ secret.
It wasn’t until my last visit to the hairdressers that I found out that it doesn’t have to be this way, oh no. You can transform the colour of your locks, pretty dramatically with toners. And the best part? They gently fade over time – no roots, no regrowth and unless you love the colour and want to stay like that forever, no upkeep!
Toners work wonders for me wanting to shake things up for the different seasons but not wanting to commit to a full head of dye, and my recent visit to the ever wonderful Francesco proves it. I love the Francesco Group and I can’t rave about them enough. Every time I walk in I’m greeted with smiling faces and stylists who always remember me, my hair likes, dislikes and my drink order…wine please! I’ve never had a bad cut with Francesco and that’s the reason I go back again and again. They always listen and nail what you’re looking for every darn time – they get the xameliax stamp of approval for sure!
Before this appointment my hair was pretty sad! My once summery blonde balayage was all over the place after months of neglect and bleaching in the sunshine from all my wonderful trips. My layers had grown out and it was just in need of a bit of TLC. The wonderful Helen sat me down and we discussed what we should go for – chocolate hues and my balayage knocked down from blonde to copper for the Autumn/winter months.
After a few hours of toner work, washes and styling I was out of the salon and completely transformed! I honestly can’t believe the difference it’s made and my new colour will last around 20 washes before fading.
Toner’s are the way forward if you fancy a bit of a shake up but don’t fancy having to book in every three weeks for touch ups. Why not even experiment with a daring new shade too – Francesco have got you covered!
I visited the Bridle Road branch but Francesco have lots of salons in the UK – find your nearest one here!
Would you be tempted to try toners to shake up your colour this season?
