.Model’s Own Splash Collection - Pink Paradise & Mermaid Tears | Swatch and Review.

Two nail posts in one week? I just couldn’t wait to show you these!

When Model’s Own release a new glitter i get a bit too excited because they’re always soooo beautiful - and their new Splash collection doesn’t disappoint! I have two gorgeous colours from the collection to try - Pink Paradise* and  Mermaid Tears* - love that name and love them!

Filled with large shards and flakes of iridescent glitter they’re quite tricky to apply and need a fair bit of rearranging, but once they’re on they look amazing! I’ve painted Mermaid Tears over Barry M’s Gelly Prickly Pear (one of my favourites at the moment) and Pink Paradise over Barry M’s Gelly in Grapefruit with Dragonfruit on my other nails! I absolutely love the look of the orange and red glitters in the collection too so i think i may have to take a wander to boots pretty soon, but for now i’m very happy trying out these interesting glitters over all my polishes and i haven’t found a combo that looks bad yet!

You can buy the whole Splash collection HERE for just £20!

Have you tried any of the new Splash Collection? Which is your favourite colour?

.Beauty and the Beach 2013 | xameliax.
My entry for this year’s Beauty and the Beach competition contains actual real life sand - oooo aaaaaah - and because i haven’t got a holiday booked for this year it’s as close to a beach as i’m going to get!
How to:
For the base i used the Saran Wrap technique with a combination of Kure Baazar’s Hipster* and Natural Collection White followed by painting on a little palm tree (complete with coconuts) with a teeny tiny nail art brush. The island was created by sprinkling real sand over a layer of nude polish and no topcoat to preserve the authentic tropical feel!
Find out how to enter this year’s Beauty and the Beach contest and win up to £1,500 HERE!
Have you seen any of this year’s nail art entries? What’s your favourite?

.Butter London Comes to Boots.

Yes, it’s official, Butter London is the next great polish brand to don the selves of our beloved Boots stores across the uk! *cheers and applause* And to celebrate they’ve released a beautiful glittery shade called Posh Bird* for us all to wear into the summer season along with some other beautiful pastel colours to boot.

I love the look of Butter London polishes, they just look so classic sat on your shelf, and i always feel like i’m getting so much more polish with their square bottles! But luckily for Butter L the polish inside is just as good as the packaging with a wonderfully even application and finish. Above i’m wearing Posh Bird* on my accent nails with Molly Coddled* as a base and a Cuppa* stripe! I’m a huge pastel fan so these are a welcome edition to my collection, and Posh Bird is like no colour i already own. I did find it needed a hefty layer of top coat to get a good shine, but i also feel like it would look lovely with a matte top as well.

I’m super excited to see a Butter London stand in my Boots but if you can’t wait then you can take a look at their collection online HERE for £12 a bottle!

What’s your favourite Butter London shade? Will you be hunting down Posh Bird in Boots?

.Monday Manicure | Coloured Sequin Fun.
I’ve wanted some little sequins* for my nail art for a while now, so when these popped through my door the other week i was too excited i ended up using most of the colours in one go! They’re an absolute bargain and so easy to apply with a cocktail stick or a dotting tool, just be careful they don’t stick together and hide on top of eachother ready to move when you add your top coat - can you spot my mistake?! There’s 12 different colours in the set so they’re a bargain at just £4 and the handy little pots keep them together in one place and stack easily in your nail storage. Keep you eyes peeled for these in future manicures, i can’t wait to have another play and get creative!
Polish Used:
Barry M Black & Seche Vite Top Coat
You can buy a pack of 12 different sequin colours for just $6.45 (that’s just £4.23) with free delivery from the Born Pretty Website HERE…and don’t forget you can get 10% off by entering the code AMYJ61 at the checkout!
Have you tried a sequin manicure yet? What’s your favourite colour combination?

.Clinique A Different Nail Enamel for Sensitive Skins | Review & Swatch.

Stop the press - Clinique now make Nail Polish! But it’s not just any nail polish, Clinique are branding their newest venture as ‘A Different Nail Enamel’ and that it certainly is.

Clinique’s brand is centered around skin friendly makeup products developed by dermatologists to help those with all skin types look fabulous and their new polishes come with the same ethos. On average we touch our eyes 200 times a day, so for those with sensitive skin nail polish can actually irritate the delicate eye area and cause discomfort. These new nail polishes however are created to help those with sensitive skin and minimise irritation - and they look amazing too!

The colours i have from left to right are: 05 Really Rio*, 08 Party Red*, 03 Fizzy* and 10 Indie Rock*. I’ve used Fizzy and Indie rock to create the first manicure with Essie’s Matte About You and some small round gold studs* from Born Pretty Store. The second manicure is made with Really Rio and Party Red with the solid colours as accents and a gorgeous gradient on the others using just those two colours and a makeup sponge!

The consistency and application of these polishes are lovely. They’re almost opaque in one coat and dry evenly and quickly, i’d certainly buy more as some of their other colours look gorgeous. Their deep comfort hand and cuticle cream is amazing too, it’s made itself a permanent spot in my handbag already!

You can buy Clinique’s Different Nail Enamel on their website HERE right now for £12 a bottle, and they’ll be rolled out to Clinique counters nationwide on the 31st of May!

Will you be trying any of the new Clinique Nail Enamels? What’s your favourite colour from above?

.Practical Beauty Bits From Barry M | Eye Pencil Sharpener & Nail Paint Corrector Pen.

Often products like this can get missed when a brand releases lots of new items for a change in season. People are drawn to the pretty coloured nail paints or the new lip shades and these little gems often get over-looked, but for me these two tiny items are brilliant and certainly deserve a mention for making our beauty lives that little bit easier.

Duo Ended Pencil Sharpener*

I’ve already got a duo pencil sharpener that i picked up in boots which has a cap on the top to stop any shavings falling out of the case that’s quite sturdy, yet i still find bits of pencil in my beauty box on a daily basis - why? Answer - the pencil holes. Sharpenings some how manage to weedle themselves back through the pencil holes and lounge around next to my foundation and concealer causing a terrible mess and lots of charcoal smudges. But Barry M have solved this issue with two little bits of plastic that cover the ends of your sharpener, so not only does it keep the shavings in the case, but it also stops them from climbing back out the sides too, genius. There’s probably other sharpeners on the market like this but this is the first i’ve seen of it and for just £2 i think it’s a wise investment for a cleaner makeup case or bag!

Nail Corrector Pen* -

I’m obsessed with clean edges whenever i paint my nails, and usually i just use a cotton bud dipped into polish remover which does the job nicely. However not only do i find it difficult to get right into the corners with a big fat cotton bud, but i also end up with quite dry cuticles thanks to the acetone. This is where this little product works it manicure magic. Acetone free and melon scented (don’t sniff pens kids) Barry M’s new Nail Corrector Pen whisks away traces of polish left on your fingers with ease and doesn’t leave you with awful skin afterwards - amazing. It also comes with two replacement tips too for when the original gets a bit grubby. At £4.99 i think it’s a nice little addition to your nail art collection especially with the extra tips to keep you going for a few more manicures.

You can buy both of these new handy products on the Barry M website HERE and HERE!

Have you tried any of Barry M’s beauty accessories before? What do you think of these two useful products?
